The O.R. Tambo District Municipality in partnership with the Eastern Cape Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (ECCOGTA) is hosting a two-day District Wide Infrastructure Forum (DWIF) focused on strengthening municipal infrastructure and improving service delivery across the district.
This forum provides an important platform for municipalities to reflect on progress made during the current financial year, assess performance, and address existing challenges.
Key objectives of this forum includes:
✅ Providing municipalities with an opportunity to account on commitments made during the current financial year.
✅ Allowing municipalities to reflect on targets achieved and progress made in infrastructure development.
✅ Reflecting on assessment reports shared, identifying challenges and areas requiring support to improve service delivery.
✅ Ensuring municipalities implement the Risk Adjustment Strategy (RAS) within set timeframes and deadlines in order to mitigate and ultimately eliminate underspending.
The forums also plays a crucial role in strengthening collaboration among municipalities and government stakeholders to ensure efficient infrastructure delivery and improved services for all communities that are within the district.
