The 2026 academic year officially commenced today, with the Back to School Programme in the O.R. Tambo District launched at Toli Senior Secondary School in Port St Johns Local Municipality.
Toli Senior Secondary School has consistently produced outstanding results, having taken learners to the Provincial Awards for the past 21 consecutive years. The school maintains a pass rate of over 90%, reflecting its strong culture of excellence.
MEC for Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure Siphokazi Lusithi encouraged learners to work even harder and continue raising the Toli SSS flag high. She strongly discouraged the “pens down” campaign, warning that it places learners’ lives at risk.
“We want this school to be even greater; let us aim for excellence,” she said.
