The O.R. Tambo District Municipality in partnership with King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality handed over six houses in Baziya village in ward 15. This comes after these homes were hit by disaster in the previous years.
The upgrades will allow the plant to pump out more water to Mthatha CBD, peri-urban areas and parts of Mqanduli. It will also provide reliable water supply to rural areas with no water and those relying on stand alone schemes.

O.R. Tambo District Municipality Community Services MMC, Cllr Gcingca handed over 96 parcels to KSD Local Municipality residents of wards 1,2,3,4,10,11,12, 14,37,21,22,23,26,and 29. The parcels are intended to assist the victims who were affected by floods that left many homeless and destitute.
Following the appointment of a new Council Speaker, Cllr Siphokazi Njisane; the meeting considered reports from various committees of Council and received the Executive Mayor’s reports. The reports reflected great improvements from various departments as well as the work done by the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC).
