Behind every reliable water supply, every maintained road, every completed infrastructure project, and every community service is one essential requirement: good governance.
Today, the O.R. Tambo District Municipality hosted the Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury-led Division of Revenue Act (DORA) Workshop, facilitated by MEC Mlungisi Mvoko.
The workshop brought together political and administrative leadership to strengthen understanding of the legislation, financial governance requirements, conditional grant management, and infrastructure planning that shape municipal service delivery.
While the discussions were technical, their impact reaches far beyond the boardroom. They are about ensuring that public funds are used responsibly, projects are delivered efficiently, and communities receive the services they deserve.
Every rand allocated must translate into visible progress. Every plan must lead to implementation. Every decision must contribute to improving the lives of our people.
The engagement reinforced the importance of accountability, sound financial management, and integrated planning as the building blocks of sustainable development across the O.R. Tambo District.
Because when governance works, communities benefit. Infrastructure improves. Opportunities grow. Lives change.
