LIBODE WASTEWATER PROJECT BRINGS HOPE FOR IMPROVED SERVICES
 
The Libode Wastewater Treatment Works Phase 2 project is making progress towards strengthening sanitation infrastructure services of Libode and surrounding communities.
The project commenced on 3 July 2025 and is scheduled for completion on 21 April 2027, with a construction award of R85,684,654.17.
Once completed, the project will directly benefit approximately 9,296 people across 3,368 households, providing improved wastewater treatment capacity and laying a stronger foundation for future residential and business development.
The project is also contributing to local economic opportunities, with 15 local residents currently employed, including young men and women.
Currently at 43% completion, the project continues to bring meaningful infrastructure investment closer to the people of Libode, building a healthier, more sustainable future for the community.
